Video Transcription
Next, there are several different types of board-style questions, and each type of question has a letter designation. Now we're not going to go deeply into all different types recognized. The National Board of Medical Examiners recognizes only six types currently. We've retired a lot of types that they found were not fair or in the best interest of test-taking to continue, and if you're really interested, you can read through this glossary of question types and refer to the link in the References section. The American Board of Dermatology really only uses two types, Type A and Type P. Type A questions are by far the most common type that a test-taker will see on an American Board of Dermatology exam. That is one correct answer out of five response options. The other type, relatively new to the American Board of Dermatology, is what we call Type P, and we will discuss this type later.
